<p>Exploring themes of addiction, sexual power games, and compulsive behavior, Barbet Schroeder’s Tricheurs is a powerfully impudent look into the world of gambling addicts. Bulle Ogier (<i>Discreet Charm of Bourgeoisie</i>, <i>Maitresse</i>) is cast among a stylish milieu of gamblers on the Portuguese island of Madeira. There she becomes involved with a slick gamblers’ scheme to run the roulette wheel. Tricheurs features an appearance from the film’s cinematographer, the legendary Robby Müller.
