Photographed by the great Eugene Schufftan (who would win a Best Cinematography Academy Award the following year for Robert Rossen's <i>The Hustler</i>) and directed by Georges Franju, co-founder, with Henri Langlois of the Cinematheque Française in 1937 (France's most famous and important film archive), <i>Eyes Without a Face</i> is one of the great horror movies. </font> </body>
