<P><i><font size="6" color="#FFFF00"><b>A</b></font>nna and the King</i> marks the fourth film version of Anna Leonowens' diaries, including an animated version of <i>The King and I</i> from a year ago. In this new version of a familiar tale, director Andy Tennant has enlivened the material with a fresh approach--as he did when he gave the Cinderella story a postfeminist, class-conscious spin in <i>Ever After</i> (1998).
