Movie Review
No Man's Land
by David Gurevich
No Man’s Land falls squarely in the tradition of Eastern European filmaking, and in this region people know better than to draw lines between tragedy and comedy. If they had American-style TV network programming, their sitcoms would have a murder or a rape per episode, and their dramas would come with laughtracks. So – don’t be misled by the trailer. No Man’s Land has its share of laughs, but a comedy it isn’t.
